Endowed FundsThe endowment at BC High currently stands at more than $26 million. Of this amount, a percentage is paid out each year to cover various operating expenses. Within the endowment, individual funds have been established by generous benefactors in order to support BC High in perpetuity. The majority of our endowed funds are scholarships but we also have other types of endowed funds. There are currently more than 230 endowed funds at BC High. These funds are the foundation of the over $2 million given out in financial aid each year, and also fund special awards, endowed chairs for faculty, and other programs. Scholarships are essential to the promotion of a diverse economic background and to BC High's tradition of supporting recent immigrant groups. Currently $100,000 is required to endow a fund. If you would like to contribute to a fund or establish a new fund please contact the Advancement office at 617-474-5030. |
