Progress Reports for Quarter Four will be posted by Friday of next week and mailed home.
AP Exams begin on Monday, May 7 and run through Friday May, 18. Any student who misses an AP exam must make it up on the late testing day/time specified by the College Board. Each exam has a different time slot, ranging from 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 23 to 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 25. For the AP Exam schedule, please see the download to the right. If your son is absent for an exam, you will need to contact Student Affairs, per usual absence protocol.
Office of Student Affairs
Dress Code: Seniors still coming to campus for AP exams are expected to be in dress code. Many students have asked about wearing shorts; students should not be wearing shorts until notified by the Student Affairs Office. Not until the temperatures rise and the buildings become warm will there be a change in dress code. When and if we do allow shorts, we will make in school announcements as well as publish the change in the Eagle Update.
Students taking AP classes: Due to the large number of students taking AP classes, it is necessary for the Seniors to continue to have a parent call followed up with a note in the event of an absence.
Junior Prom Tickets: Tickets for the Junior Prom are now on sale in the bookstore for $95 per couple. The event will be held next Friday, May 4, from 7 p.m.-10 p.m. at Lombardo’s in Randolph. Tickets will be on sale through Tuesday, May 1 during homeroom.

While all students and families are welcome, this fair is especially important for sophomores and juniors. The fair will run 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. in the Hunter-Fahey Commons. A list of attending colleges is attached.
National College Fair – May 3: The National Association of College Admission Counseling will be hosting its annual spring college fair on Thursday, May 3 from 6:00 – 8:30 p.m. at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center, in Exhibit Hall C. Over 400 colleges will be in attendance. For more information please visit http://www.nacacnet.org.
Junior Questionnaire Due May 1: The junior questionnaire enables your counselor to write a recommendation letter that truly reflects who you are and what you are about. The time you put into this document directly impacts you, so give this thought and energy!
Xavier University Interview Sign-ups Continue: The Dean of Admission from Xavier University will be conducting interviews with BC High juniors in the guidance conference room on Monday, May 7. Juniors who are interested need to sign up for an interview in the guidance office as soon as possible. Xavier University is a Jesuit college in Cincinnati, Ohio.
June SAT Registration Deadline: May 8 is the registration deadline for the June 2 SAT. Students who think they may qualify for a fee waiver should see their guidance counselor as soon as possible.
June ACT Registration Deadline: May 4 is the registration deadline for the June 9 ACT. Students can register at www.actstudent.org. Although the writing section of the ACT is optional, students are strongly encouraged to take it.
Coast To Coast College Tour: On Sunday, April 29 from 7 – 9 p.m., the Boston Marriott Newton will host an evening information program featuring presentations from admission representatives of Dartmouth College, Northwestern University, Princeton University, University of California Berkeley, and Vanderbilt University. This is a great opportunity for students and parents to learn about the admission process and campus updates at these highly selective institutions. To register, please visit www.coasttocoasttour.org.
Senior Graduation Survey: The guidance department has one final request of all seniors, which is for you to complete the Graduation Survey found on your Naviance account. We need to know where you plan to attend college in the fall guidance so that we can forward a copy of your final transcript to that college/university’s admission office. You will not be able to register for classes in the fall if your school does not have your final transcript which proves that you graduated from BC High. To access the survey, please log onto your Naviance account. Under the "about me" tab, on the left side of the screen under "surveys to take", click on "graduation survey." This very short, 3- step survey will take less than five minutes to complete.
May 1 College Decision Deadline: Senior families are reminded that Tuesday, May 1 is the deadline to send in your son’s deposit to the college he plans to attend next year. Offers of admission expire on May 1. Therefore, even if your son had elected to remain on a waitlist he must still deposit at a school where he has been accepted in order to secure a spot in college next fall. Additionally, seniors should inform the teachers who wrote their recommendations of where they will be attending college in the fall. Thanks!
College Admission Representative Visits: Juniors, please begin checking your Naviance account for a list of colleges who will be coming to visit BC High. At the home page of your Naviance account, you select the “colleges” tab and look under “upcoming college visits.” On Wednesday, May 2 at 9:30 a.m., a representative from Ohio State University will be leading an information session in the guidance conference room for all interested juniors.
