President Grace Cotter Regan P’12 and the Board of Trustees are pleased to announce that Mr. Adam Lewis has been selected as the next principal of Boston College High School. Mr. Lewis will begin his role effective July 1, 2019.
“While I feel privileged to lead the Loyola community, it has always been a personal and professional ambition to lead BC High,” said Mr. Lewis. Coupled with his exemplary professional experience, Mr. Lewis brings a passion for and deep understanding of all-boys Jesuit education, which is driven by his personal educational philosophy. “…I aspire to make a difference in every member of the school community so that they can make a positive difference in our world, through their leadership. Education, or formation in the context of a Jesuit school, is about accompanying people and inspiring them to have the courage to honestly reflect on their experiences, and be drawn to positive action.”
President Regan remarked, “we feel blessed to have Adam join the BC High community. His demonstrated leadership, particularly at top-notch Jesuit schools around the globe, will be an asset to our students and faculty as he continues to build upon the good work of Steve Hughes and his team. I believe we share a collaborative approach to learning and leadership that will have a transformative impact on the young men we educate.”
In November 2018, after announcing the retirement of Steve Hughes ’73 as principal, a rigorous search began which drew interest from around the United States and beyond. Chair of the Board, Kelly Mason Verrochi P'15 shared, “I’d like to congratulate President Regan and members of the Principal Search, led by Mary Gene Clavin of Advancement Incite, for their diligent, thorough, and transparent work in naming our next principal.”
