Academic Resource Center

As educators, our mission is to challenge and support all students, foster academic success, personal responsibility and leadership potential within the scholastic, spiritual and extracurricular spheres of BC High.

Welcome to The Academic Resource Center

Our goal in the office is to enhance the opportunity for all Boston College High School students to strengthen their skills, helping them meet their personal goals and reach their potential while adhering to the School’s demanding academic standards.  Services available through the Academic Resource Center include:
  • Setting personal goals and objectives
  • Teaching self-advocacy skills
  • Instruction in organization, time management, study skills, test preparation, etc.
  • Working one-on-one with National Honor Society Tutors
  • Create accommodation plans for students with identified learning issues
  • Coordinate educational testing
  • Apply for accommodations for college entrance exams (SAT, AP, and ACT)

These services are meant to complement, rather than substitute for, support students are given by their individual teachers and advisers.
The center is located in the Corcoran Library, opposite the Hyde Center for Global Education. Students can make appointments during the day by e-mailing Mr. McKiernan or stopping by the office.
