Driver's Education

Driver's Education Program Information

Accelerated Course dates:

In-Person Drivers Ed courses will resumme at BC High in the fall.

Open to boys and girls

30 hours of classroom instruction including:
  • Understanding the vehicle
  • Basic driving skills
  • Rules of the road
  • Making safe driving decisions
  • Driving in all weather conditions
  • The dangers of alcohol, drugs and driving
Outside of the 30 classroom hours students will also have to take:
12 hours Behind-the-Wheel Instruction
6 hours of In-Car Observation Time
 
State-mandated Parent/Guardian Course - A two-hour course that will assist parents/guardians in helping new drivers, as mandated by the state. The class covers Junior Operator License (JOL) rules for drivers 16 ½ to 18 years old.
 
Home drop off and pick up will not be available. All behind the wheel driving instruction and observations will begin and end at BC High.
 
Cost for AAA Members is $755 and for Non AAA Members is $805. Cost includes a free one year AAA associate membership once the student completes the course.
