BC Hire

Job-hunting can feel exciting—and overwhelming.

That’s where the BC Hire Career Connections program comes in. Through ongoing relations with alumni, parents, and local businesses, BC Hire has connected students and young alumni to opportunities ranging from summer jobs and paid internships to professional career opportunities at every level. Ready to kick off your career? Your community is here to help.

  • Job and Paid Intern Assistance

BC Hire assists young BC High alumni and select current students in finding full-time summer paid internship opportunities. We talk to you about your interests and what you might be looking for in a summer internship. Then, we put you in touch with hiring companies in major cities throughout the country, including Boston.

Popular industries for BC Hire students include wealth management, engineering, finance, bio-tech, investment, marketing, and accounting. However, we are prepared to assist you in finding paid internships in other fields. We also help younger students seek traditional summer service jobs.

  • Career Training

Learn to build a resume, nail an interview, and work in a professional setting. Throughout the academic year, BC Hire offers hands-on training classes to help you succeed in the workplace and in life. The program also invites successful alumni back to campus twice a month to speak about their career paths and connect with students interested in following in their footsteps.

  • Our BC Hire Partners

Each year, dozens of businesses support BC Hire by offering opportunities to our students and alumni. Past participating businesses have included:

    • The Boston Celtics
    • The Commonwealth Museum
    • Citizens Bank
    • Freedom Boat Club
    • Ladder
    • Mansfield Bio-Incubator
    • MASCO Services
    • National Grid
    • NE Mediation and Arbitration
    • Nordson Medical
    • Piece by Piece Moving & Storage
    • Steve & Kate’s Camp

Getting Started

BC Hire offers career programs throughout the academic calendar for our current students and young alumni. These programs include resume building, interviewing skills and learning to work in a professional setting. BC High continues to invite successful alumni back to campus twice a month to speak to student groups regarding their career path. It’s an excellent opportunity for students to utilize the BC High network.

If you are ready to explore the BC Hire Internship Program either as a candidate or potential employer, choose one of the options below:

  • For Current Students & Candidates

At the high school and early college level, most of our employment opportunities are traditional summer service jobs. We believe in the value of these positions as they become the building blocks for your college and early career employment opportunities. They show grit, humility and a strong work ethic. Many of the hiring managers you will be speaking to for your internships have held these kinds of roles and see the worth that they bring to their place of work. After a year or two of college level coursework, we are often able to provide leads on quality paid summer internships thanks to our engaged alumni & parent network and community connections.
