BC HIGH ANNOUNCES APPOINTMENT OF KARA KOLOMITZ
AS NEW VICE PRESIDENT OF ENROLLMENT MANAGEMENT
Kolomitz Comes to BC High After 21 Years at Regis College
Boston, Mass. (August 3, 2022): Boston College High School is pleased to announce the appointment of Kara Kolomitz, EdD, as its new Vice President of Enrollment Management. Dr. Kolomitz comes to BC High following 21 years at Regis College, where she has served as Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer since 2019.
“I have long admired BC High’s pioneering role in Catholic education, and in particular how cura personalis is integrated into the institution,” said Dr. Kolomitz. “Being a part of this school community where values of service and leadership are embraced is such a meaningful opportunity.”
A 25-year veteran in Catholic school leadership, Dr. Kolomitz has held positions ranging from programming coordinator to dean of students. Most recently, Dr. Kolomitz has overseen administrative operations and supporting infrastructure, as well as ensuring initiatives alignment with the college’s strategic plan. Under her leadership, retention rates at the institution grew to an all-time high, including among first-generation college students. Further, she’s had an integral role in shepherding the transformation of a small women’s college into a multifaceted institution.
“I have had the honor of knowing Dr. Kolomitz for a number of years and have long admired her commitment to a Jesuit education,” said President Grace Cotter Regan. “Her decades-long commitment to a powerful formative student experience; of diversity, equity and inclusion; access and affordability; and financial stability align with the school’s ongoing formation of our young men. Dr. Kolomitz is an incredible leader, and we are thrilled to welcome her to the BC High leadership team.”
Dr. Kolomitz received her doctorate in educational leadership from Johnson and Wales University. She also holds a master’s degree in education from Providence College and a bachelor’s degree in communication art and philosophy from Regis University in Denver.
