Freshman Formation

The Freshmen Formation Program is based one of the Jesuit charism’s, cura personalis, care of the individual person. Here at BC High we are committed to caring for your son, inviting them into a community of hospitality based on the Christian message of taking care of and loving one another. Integral to this formation are the Senior Mentors.

Mentors model what it means to be men for others, men of character, men of generosity, men of compassion. They are called to servant leadership, as modeled by Christ, to stand with those they are serving. The senior mentors walk alongside the freshman welcoming them, guiding them, supporting them, and most importantly, building lasting relationships with them.

Senior Mentors

The Senior Mentor program aims to welcome the freshmen, support them, guide them, develop friendships with them, and to help them in their transition into BC High. Senior Mentors should be role models for the freshmen and should be genuinely committed to all aspects of BC High’s mission. In particular, Senior Mentors must be servant leaders and Men for Others. The program includes:

  • Plan and run Freshmen Orientation in June and August
  • Attend leadership training day in August
  • Plan and run Friday socials for freshmen
  • Plan and run Freshmen Retreat
  • Plan and run Hunger Awareness week
