    McNeice Pavilion was a sea of red bandannas this past Monday, as students, faculty, and staff wore them proudly on their arms, heads, and as scarves for author Tom Rinaldi. Rinaldi was the guest speaker for a presentation by the Corcoran Living Library Lecture Series and author of The Red Bandanna, BC High’s All-School read that was chosen because of its connection to the mission and the Graduate at Graduation.

  • National merit semi-finalists pictured with Steve Hughes

    Seniors Earn National Academic Accolades

    BC High's senior class is working hard to maintain the school's tradition of academic excellence, and they are gaining national recognition for their efforts. Twenty-five seniors placed in the top 5 percent of all students taking the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT) nationally and five students were lauded for their exceptional performances on the test. Massachusetts is among the most difficult states in which to achieve this honor, as the cutoff score for recognition is tied for the highest in the country.

    As part of a comprehensive and personal college counseling program, the BC High Guidance department hosts two very large college fairs for juniors and seniors. With more than 140 colleges in attendance, students can visit schools from all across the United States and abroad.

  • Distractology is back on campus

    Don't be a Distracted Driver

    The Driscoll Agency is proud to bring Distractology to Boston College High School during the week of September 25-29. Developed and funded by the Arbella Insurance Foundation, Distractology was one of the first programs in the country to address distracted driving with young, inexperienced drivers. Drivers who have completed Distractology are proven to be 19% less likely to have an accident and 25 % less likely to receive traffic violations.

    BC High will host a middle and high school admissions fair for any students and families who are looking for options for middle and/or high school enrollment on Sunday, September 10, from noon to 2 p.m.

    Admission representatives from more than 40 schools (including religious, independent, single gender, co-ed, boarding, day, large and small schools) will be present to share more about their offerings.

    Arrupe Division Celebrates Milestone

    Our first day of the 2017-2018 school year ended with a twist as we marked the tenth anniversary of the Arrupe Division.  Ten years ago, on September 5, 2007, over 20 new teachers welcomed the first seventh and eighth graders to BC High. Mr. Miller (Arrupe science) gave the faculty address at the Convocation ceremony that evening.
