UPDATE: Due to safety concerns, the France Summer Seminar is currently suspended until further notice.
During this program, students participate in daily lessons in French and French history, and have ample opportunities to explore and discover the rich French culture and heritage. 
Students also spend a short amount of time in Paris, visiting famous sites such as the Louvre, the Champs-Elysées and the Eiffel Tower, at the culmination of their experience in France. Students are expected to have a basic knowledge of French. Students will receive academic credit for this seminar.

  • Program Dates

    The France Summer Seminar is currently suspended until further notice due to saftey concerns. 
  • Eligibility & Application Process

    Students are eligible to travel if completing their sophomore or junior year. Interested freshmen and/or seniors must contact the Director of the Hyde Center to inquire about program participation.

    Applications will be available in the beginning of September and will be accepted on a rolling basis until the program is filled. A non-refundable deposit of $500 is required one week after acceptance to confirm participation.
  • Academic Credit

    This program will offer .5 credit that will be officially listed on the student’s transcript and will be used when factoring a student’s cumulative GPA. Please note that the credit offered does not replace any required classes at BC High.
  • Host Family Experience

    The France Summer Seminar is currently suspended until further notice due to saftey concerns. 
  • Program Costs

    The estimated cost is $2,950 – Cost will include tuition, board, meals, travel within France and entrance fees. Expenses that are not included are: trains from Paris to Lyon, round-trip air travel, personal items, and services such as passport fees, phone calls, and personal spending money. (Final cost is determined by participation.) Financial aid is available through the application process.
