Concert Band

The Concert Band, simply referred to as “Band",  functions as a pep-band and performs pep music for the varsity football team at home games and at the annual Thanksgiving game during the Fall. In mid-October, the band begins to prepare music for the annual Christmas Concert.

Major performances include:

  • Home varsity football games
  • Christmas concert
  • National Honor Society Induction
  • Annual March concert
  • Senior-week concert
  • Graduation ceremony

Chamber Orchestra

The Chamber Orchestra provides an opportunity for instruments such as violin, viola, cello, bass violin, and piano. The orchestra performs classical and light classical works and performs at special school ceremonies as well as the annual school concert performances. Rehearsals take place on Mondays from 2:50-4:30 p.m.

Jazz Big Band

The Jazz Big Band is our large jazz band. Horn players are drawn from the Concert Band, while piano, bass, guitar, and drums are open to all students with experience on their instruments. Attendance at all rehearsals and performances is mandatory. The Jazz Big Band rehearses on Mondays from 2:50-4:30 p.m.

Jazz/Rock Ensemble

The Jazz/Rock Ensemble is our small jazz group. Members are selected by audition. Auditions take place each year in the fall- usually a few weeks after school has begun. The group has no fixed instrumentation but the total size does not exceed ten members.

Note: All instrumental music students are expected to take weekly private lessons.
