Shine on the Field, Stage or Studio

Shine on the Field, Stage or Studio — It’s Up to You!

With over 100 clubs and co-curriculars, you’ll have myriad opportunities to engage your passions — whether it’s starring in a theater production, participating in a mock trial debate, or throwing the game’s final touchdown. Our students have started their very own unique clubs, which we welcome and encourage you to do, too.

By taking advantage of all the extras that BC High has to offer, you’ll build community, push one another outside of your comfort zones, and as a result grow, both in confidence and character.

At BC High, there’s a sea of opportunities to expand your horizons outside the four walls of the classroom.
Dive right in!

Model UN

Picture yourself in the front row, listening to a keynote from the Director of the Peace Corps – or winning an award for your leadership in a Cold War Crisis Simulation. If that has you excited… Model United Nations, one of the oldest and largest clubs at BC High, might be right for you!

You’ll take full advantage of being in Boston by attending several conferences throughout the year. In March, you’ll help host dozens of schools from every New England state and New York at our own student-run conference. But to really grow your skills as a talented negotiator, you might go beyond Boston by traveling to conferences at Georgetown University and Stanford University.

Black Latino Student Union

Diversity matters at BC High. Through the Black & Latino Student Union you’ll engage in meaningful conversations about equity and inclusion in our school. As one of our many cultural affinity organizations on campus, the BLSU plays an important role in celebrating the diversity of our community. During weekly meetings and our annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Prayer Service you’ll grow to be an advocate empowered with the support and information to bring about positive social change wherever you go.

Business Club

BC High alumni are leaders in every field and industry. Through the Business Club you’ll have an opportunity to interact with them regularly, learning about new career paths and making connections along the way. There’s no shortage of opportunities for industrious young minds here which includes traveling to New York City for several days’ worth of meetings with alumni on Wall Street.

Media Club

Have you ever seen a hype video for your favorite sports team and wondered how it was made? Look no further than the Media Club. You’ll capture photos and video for athletics, assemblies, and anything else of interest happening at school. Through the Media Club Instagram account, you’ll learn what it’s like to deliver compelling content and grow your audience. Student photography is even used in the BC High magazine distributed to nearly 20,000 people twice a year.

Robotics

The first Robotics Competition is tough, and your staging area – the pit – is loud. Your whole season has built up to this moment after countless long nights spent designing, building, wiring, and programming the robot. A bug that has haunted your robot all year has reared its head during the qualification period, and your team has a choice: risk rendering the robot useless in your upcoming matches... or wipe the slate clean and start programming from scratch.
