The Fund for BC High Parent Drive 2018

Every gift of any amount from every parent/guardian is welcome and appreciated!

This year's Fund for BC High Parent Drive goals are $625,000 and 100% parent participation. The Drive runs November 1 - 16 -- the full fiscal year runs July 1, 2018-June 30, 2019. Thank you for giving!
Our sons’ formation to become a “man for others” has already begun! Our boys are becoming more loving, more open to growth, and committed to social justice...
Their journey will be lifelong… Just ask anyone in the vast alumni network, those 15,000 brothers who continue to seek Magis (Latin: “the more”) in the Jesuit tradition they began on Morrissey Blvd. – seeking to live life in response to the profound question: “How can I be more, do more, give more?”
As parents, this is what we desire. We desire Magis for our son. For him to grasp and pursue wholeheartedly becoming a “man for others.” At BC High, every aspect of a young man’s character formation is considered – every member seeks to produce in our sons creative thinkers and ethical achievers.
Your gift to The Fund for BC High makes this possible! Thank you for your support!

Please give today! Parents: indicate your son(s)' class year in "Class Year." Thank you!

FAQs about Giving at BC High

List of 8 items.

  • What is the Fund for BC High?

The Fund for BC High is the name of BC High's "Annual Fund." It is comprised of gifts from a dedicated group of alumni, parents, and friends that are generally unrestricted and are used by the school where thay are needed most: in supporting the school's day-to-day operations. Academic programs, need-based financial aid & scholarships, campus technology, and library resources are a few of the many areas that benefit from your gift.
  • What does a gift to the Fund for BC High do?

Your gift helps to bridge the gap between what the school receives in tuition and what it actually costs to educate each student. Your annual gift helps BC High support vital programs at the school and helps ensure that no deserving student be denied a BC High education due to an inability to pay. As an unrestricted fund, it provides the school flexibility to absorb unexpected costs and maintenance throughout the campus without increasing the tuition rates.
  • What is the Magis Guild?

The Magis Guild is for leadership donors who give $500 - $1,499 annually to The Fund for BC High. This special group of alumni, parents, grandparents, and friends play a vital role in laying the foundation for each year’s Fund for BC High. Members of the Magis Guild are invited to special events and receptions throughout the year.
  • What is the Companions' Circle?

The Companions’ Circle is named after the first followers of St. Ignatius, who were called “Companions.” Members of this group have generously committed to up to five years each of consecutive giving to The Fund for BC High, at $1,500 or more each year. Every CC member has committed to giving a total of $10,000 or more. Each CC member works with a BC High Advancement team member to structure their up-to-five-year pledge to meet their own philanthropic goals while also supporting the most urgent budgetary needs of BC High; most have structured their gifts beginning at Magis Guild level ($1,500) for their first year and increasing by $500 each subsequent year for a five-year total of $12,500, though many have pledged to give as much as $2,500, $5,000 or more annually. We are incredibly grateful for the generosity of these individuals.
  • How important is my participation?

Your support is vital to the financial health and reputation of the school. The participation rate of those who contribute to the school's annual fundraising effort is an important measure used by foundations and other grant-giving institutions in dispensing grant funding. It is also a good tool to measure how pleased alumni are with their high school experience and how happy parents are with the education and guidance that BC High has provided for their sons.
  • Why should I contribute?

Your gift to The Fund for BC High helps keep tuition increases to a minimum by providing much-needed financial aid to ensure that these increases do not become a burden to those students who most need it. It also supports the budgets for many valuable programs on campus that make the BC High experience unique. We invite you to take part in this important tradition, by helping the current generation of students benefit from the Jesuit, Catholic education that BC High provides.
