John Normant has contributed the past 54 years of his life to Boston College High School as a student, teacher, and track coach. He has dedicated his life to serving God and his people through his commitment to supporting and recognizing the accomplishments of his students.

In his more than 30 years spent teaching at BC High, he has always sought ways to help as many students as he could, especially those who needed that help the most. If a student needed school supplies, John would provide those supplies to students.  He supported students in the classroom and beyond by participating fully in the community of BC High, attending Good Friday Walks, school concerts, plays and as many athletic events as allowed while coaching three seasons.

As a track coach, John has devoted thousands of hours of his time helping young men have the most positive experience as a member of the team.  His student-athletes learn so much about how to compete with class, humility and pride.  He teaches them about dedication and commitment, but also about respect.  His true gift is humility, never seeking to share the accomplishments of his athletes, but always crediting their success, to their hard work.

In addition to his profound impact on his students at BC High, John has also had a similar impact with his unlimited contributions to his community by serving on the Parish Pastoral council, and as Eucharistic Minister at St. Barholomew’s Parish.  Additionally, he served as the President of the Needham Track Club for almost two decades.
