Boston College High School will hold its 156th Commencement on Sunday, June 28, 2020. Families and friends will virtually gather with faculty, staff, trustees to celebrate the class of 2020.

  • Locker Cleanout / Tuxedo Pick-Up

    You should have received an email with all the information regarding locker cleanout and tuxedo/personal belonging pick up. Tuxedos will need to be picked up in advance of you receiving your diplomas. Tuxedos can be picked up June 1 – 4 from BC High, at the same time lockers will be cleaned out. Mr. Brooks send out details regarding this process this morning. If you have not, please contact Mr. Hollis Brooks at We appreciate your anticipated cooperation with this endeavor.
  • Presentation of Diplomas

    Each student will come to the school in his tuxedo, with his parents or guardians, at a designated time during the period Wednesday, June 3 to Friday, June 12. Each student will walk across the stage in McNeice Pavilion to receive his diploma from his parents and guardians.  Masks MUST be worn at all times except for when processing across the stage for their photos/video. This will be recorded professionally through photography and videography to comprise the virtual graduation on June 28.
    Only parents and guardians will be permitted to accompany students in McNeice Pavilion to receive their diploma. Other family members can attend but will need to remain in the car. There will be safe spots on campus for photo opportunities with families as part of the process, but it will be tightly controlled to ensure that all recommended guidelines are followed.

    Boston College High School has announced its 155th Commencement Speaker as Principal Stephen Hughes ’73, P’98, who led and helped transform the school over his nearly 20-year tenure as principal from 2002-2019. Hughes, retiring as principal this year, will lead the commencement exercises for the last time and address the Class of 2019 on Sunday, May 19.

    Boston College High School (BCHigh) was honored to have Mike White, former Chairman and CEO of DIRECTV as this year’s commencement speaker. White, a 1970 alumnus of BCHigh, addressed the graduating class of 2018, as well as their families, friends, faculty, staff, trustees and members of the class of 1968 who are celebrating their 50th anniversary this year. Commencement took place in the McNeice Pavilion on Sunday, May 20th at 1 p.m.

    Marathon Bombing Survivor: Commencement 2017 Speaker

    April 15, 2013 forever changed the lives of our entire community, none more than the hundreds injured in the Marathon Bombings. Patrick Downes '01 and his wife Jessica Kensky were among the 17 people that lost limbs that day. Patrick's story is one of courage, humility and perseverance; and is one of the many reasons he was chosen to address the students, parents and families as the 153rd commencement speaker.
