  • Instructional Technologist

    Department: Information Technology
    Status: Full-time

    BC High is seeking an Instructional Technologist to support student learning and provide leadership, instructional support and training to faculty and staff. The successful candidate will be up to date on emerging technologies and their integration into teaching and learning, and will work closely with students, faculty, administration and IT colleagues, building robust relationships to integrate technology into the classroom and use technology as a tool for critical thinking, collaboration, creativity, communication and in the service of Jesuit education and Ignatian pedagogy.

    The position requires strong leadership, interpersonal and organizational skills, a Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of teaching experience, preferably including teaching computer classes or teaching in a 1:1 iPad environment. Proficiency with Canvas, G Suite for Education, and Microsoft Office 365 for Education is preferred.

  • Gospel Choir Director

    Department: Fine & Performing Arts
    Status: Part-time

    BC High is seeking a director for a Gospel Choir beginning August 2021. The choir will be a ¼ credit elective performance class for grades 9-12.

    Responsibilites:

    • Direct one weekly 50-minute morning rehearsal (day and time TBD)
    • Conduct at periodic school masses, prayer services, and performances
    • Partner with faculty directors of two additional Liturgical Music ensembles to select music for worship
    • Maintain attendance records, determine a grading policy, and issue semester grades and progress reports.

    Participate in the mission of BC High, encouraging students to “become young men of integrity, educated in faith and for justice, committed to academic excellence and service to others.

    The ideal candidate will have:

    • Experience performing and/or directing Gospel music
    • Familiarity with the Black Gospel tradition
    • Eagerness to build a new ensemble through recruitment and visibility
    • Willingness to work with singers of different levels of experience and vocal training

    **If public health concerns prevent the resumption of singing in schools in Fall 2021 this course will still begin in September. Possible director-led activities may include historical lessons, listening assignments, and safe activities to build musical skill without singing.

  • Junior Varsity Tennis Coach

    Department: Athletics
    Status: Spring 2021, April 22-June 30

    Primary Responsibilities:
    Lead and organize the JV Tennis Program to ensure the school mission and values are part of the daily practice schedule. JV Coach availability for practice and games are weekday afternoons and some Saturdays. Tennis experience is required, whether as a coach or as a former player.

    The JV Tennis Coach works directly with the Head Varsity Tennis Coach to establish consistent program expectations. The JV Tennis Coach reports to the Athletic Director.

  • Assistant Athletic Trainer

    Department: Athletics
    Status: Full-time (academic year)

    Boston College High School is seeking a certified Assistant Athletic Trainer to work with the Head Athletic Trainer and the Director of Athletics. Primary responsibility is the day to day function of the Athletic Training Room while attending scheduled practices and interscholastic athletic contests. Provides on-site injury evaluation and care as well as appropriate acute care treatments, follow up treatments and rehab as necessary for injuries sustained by student athletes. Communicates with coaches, nurses and health care professionals and student athletes regarding playing status. Participates in the formulation of policies regarding the Training Room and Emergency Action Plans and for the Athletic Policies and Procedures Manual. Recommends new techniques and equipment.

    Interested candidates should have:

    • Certification as Athletic Trainer from Board of Certification (BOC) and hold current state license from the Commonwealth of Mass.
    • Current CPR credentials
    • Familiarity with regulations and guidelines set forth by the National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA), the Commonwealth of MA, and the MIAA.
    • Excellent communication skills required in working with other Athletic Department staff, students, parents or legal guardians, and health care professionals
    • Previous Athletic Trainer experience with 7th and 8th grade and high school athletes preferred

  • French teacher

    Department: Modern Language
    Status: Full-time (Beginning Fall 2021)

    Boston College High School is seeking a French teacher to teach three sections of French in the middle school and one section of high school French. Our school attracts a significant number of Milton Immersion students and, as such, we offer advanced courses for 7th and 8th grade students that have participated in this program.

    Interested candidates should have:

    • Fluency in French.
    • A passion for working with middle school students and an understanding of child-development for this age group.
    • Commitment to collaborating with colleagues in curriculum design and teaching practices.
    • The ability to serve as an advisor to 7th and 8th grade students.

  • Campus Minister

    Department: Center for Ignatian Identity & Formation
    Status: Full-time (academic year)

    Boston College High School is seeking to fill two Campus Minister positions to begin the upcoming academic year. The ministers are responsible for organizing and participating in the Catholic liturgical, religious and spiritual life of the BC High Community. The ministers help to organize and impact student formation which includes both retreat and service experiences. As a member of the Center for Ignatian Identity and Formation, the ministers will creatively manage and engage students, and faculty in a wide variety of mission and formation-driven activities which contribute to the religious and spiritual life of the community as well as BC High’s Jesuit mission. They will support the community with masses, prayer services, sacramental experiences, weekly examens and daily prayers. The ministers role requires some evening, night and weekend work.

    Interested candidates should have:
    • A minimum of a Bachelors degree or higher, preferably in Theology/Ministry.
    • A passion for working with high school students and an understanding of child-development for this age group.
    • Experience in a Ministry setting, with direct service and accompaniment with those in the margins
    • Experience leading student retreats and service experiences
    • An understanding of Jesuit spirituality and educational norms to communicate with both students and adults within the community
    • Knowledge and commitment around diversity, equity, and inclusion practices.
