BC High Alumnus Ozzie Trapilo ’20 Drafted by Chicago Bears in Second Round of NFL Draft

Boston, MA — BC High is thrilled to congratulate Ozzie Trapilo ’20 on being selected in the second round of this year’s NFL Draft by the Chicago Bears!

Ozzie, the son of Steve Trapilo ’82, has proudly carried on his father’s legendary legacy at both BC High and Boston College. During his years at BC High, Ozzie distinguished himself not only as a standout athlete but also as a dedicated student. He was a member of the National Honor Society and served as captain of both the Basketball and Football teams, embodying the values of leadership, commitment, and excellence.

At Boston College, Ozzie’s star continued to rise. He was recognized as a three-time All-ACC Academic Team honoree (2022–2024), a two-time All-ACC selection, and was named a team captain during his senior season. His achievements on and off the field are a testament to his hard work, perseverance, and character.

“We are incredibly proud of Ozzie and all that he has accomplished,” said President Grace Cotter Regan P'12. “He is a true leader and role model for our community, and we can’t wait to see all that he will achieve at the next level. I've known and the Trapilo family for decades and I know how proud they are for Ozzie to carry on Steve's legacy.”

Ozzie’s selection marks a special milestone for BC High, as he becomes the first alumnus to be drafted into the NFL since Coach Zukauskas himself was selected in 2001.

Congratulations, Ozzie! Your BC High family is cheering you on every step of the way, and we look forward to watching your journey in the NFL.
