Start Earlier. Grow Stronger.

Choosing the right middle school is about more than academics, it’s about who your son will become.

Beginning in Fall 2027, Boston College High School will welcome grade six, expanding to grades 6–12. This new entry point allows students to begin earlier in our community which is known for academic excellence and formation of young men of competence, conscience, and compassion.

BC High is intentionally designing a grade six experience that supports both academic growth and personal formation, helping boys build the habits, values, and confidence that shape their future.

A Strong Foundation: Challenging Academics and Intentional Formation

Grade six is a pivotal time in a boy’s development, when skills take shape, confidence grows, and values begin to guide decisions.

At BC High, our grade six program will be intentionally designed for middle school boys, balancing academic rigor with personal formation. Students will:

  • Build strong academic skills and critical thinking habits
  • Develop responsibility, organization, and independence
  • Grow in confidence within a structured, supportive environment
  • Engage in reflection and formation practices that build self-awareness
  • Explore new interests through curiosity and discovery

At BC High, formation is not separate from academics, it is woven into how students learn, grow, and become young men of competence, conscience, and compassion.

A Community That Knows Your Son

The Arrupe Division provides a supportive environment where each student is known and guided.

  • Small classes and dedicated faculty
  • Strong advisory program focused on the whole person
  • A values-driven community rooted in Jesuit tradition

Confidence, Character, Belonging

Growth happens through experience.

Students build confidence, develop resilience, and form lasting friendships through academics, athletics, co-curriculars, and community life. With a focus on participation and teamwork, every boy is encouraged and supported to explore his interests and find his place.

One Path: Grades 6 - 12.

Starting in grade six provides a clear and consistent journey through BC High.

Students benefit from:

  • A full three-year middle school experience
  • Fewer transitions and greater stability
  • Strong preparation for the academic, formation, and leadership opportunities

Your Questions, Answered

The first grade six class will enroll in Fall 2027. Applications will open in Fall 2026, with a mid-January deadline.

This expansion reflects our Jesuit mission to form young men of competence, conscience, and compassion. Starting earlier allows us to shape habits of learning, reflection, and service at a pivotal stage.

The program is being intentionally designed for early adolescents, with age-appropriate academics, strong faculty support, and a focus on personal formation. This is not simply moving the grade seven experience down, it will be a distinct experience.

Students gain a full three-year middle school experience, building academic confidence, forming strong friendships, and developing the habits and values during this critical stage of development that will prepare them for high school and beyond.

Through small classes, close faculty relationships, and a strong advisory program.
