Boston College High School Appoints Trevor Adams as Assistant Head of the Arrupe Middle School

BOSTON, Mass. — Boston College High School is pleased to announce the appointment of Trevor W. Adams as Assistant Head of the Arrupe Middle School, beginning July 1, 2026. Adams will play a key leadership role in the continued growth of the Arrupe Middle School, including the launch and development of its new sixth grade program as the division expands to serve students in grades 6–8.

Adams joins BC High from Vail Mountain School in Colorado, where he has served as Director of Middle School since 2020. In that role, he oversaw all aspects of the middle school program, including faculty leadership, curriculum development, student life, scheduling, hiring, strategic planning, and the implementation of innovative academic and advisory initiatives. Prior to Vail Mountain School, he served as Middle School Dean of Students at Sewickley Academy in Pennsylvania and has held teaching and leadership positions at The Fessenden School, Temecula Preparatory School, and Boston Latin Academy.

Throughout his career, Adams has demonstrated a commitment to fostering academic excellence, character development, and meaningful relationships with students, faculty, staff, and families. His experience leading curriculum innovation, mentoring faculty, implementing restorative practices, and developing student-centered programming positions him well to help shape the future of the Arrupe Middle School.

"Trevor brings the vision, experience, and collaborative leadership that make him an outstanding fit for this role," said Bob Hamblet P’20, ’26, Head of the Arrupe Middle School. "His deep understanding of middle school students, combined with his experience building strong academic and advisory programs, will be invaluable as we launch our sixth grade and continue to strengthen the Arrupe experience for every student. I am excited to welcome Trevor as a partner in this important next chapter."

As Assistant Head, Adams will lead the planning, implementation, and ongoing refinement of the sixth grade program while partnering closely with Hamblet to ensure a seamless, mission-driven educational experience across grades 6–8. The position is central to BC High's vision of expanding opportunities for younger students while remaining rooted in the Jesuit tradition of cura personalis, or care for the whole person.

"Trevor is an accomplished educator and thoughtful leader whose commitment to forming young people aligns beautifully with the mission of Boston College High School," said Grace Cotter Regan P’12, President of Boston College High School. "His passion for middle school education, his collaborative approach to leadership, and his dedication to helping students grow intellectually, spiritually, and personally will be tremendous assets as we continue to expand the Arrupe Middle School and strengthen our Jesuit mission."

Adams said he is eager to return to an all-boys educational environment and to help build a distinctive sixth grade experience grounded in Jesuit values.

"I am really excited to be working at an all-boys school again after attending one (Albany Academy for Boys) and starting my career at one (The Fessenden School)," Adams said. "I believe we are at an important time as a society to provide young men with different perspectives of being a man in the world.”

He added, "I am most looking forward to creating a sixth-grade experience at BC High that aligns the Jesuit values of the school with the needs of sixth grade boys as learners. Young men at this age will benefit from a program that strengthens their academic skills—organization, note-taking, study skills, time management, collaboration, and more—while also integrating them into a community that is based in high expectations with high support."

Adams earned a Master of Arts in Teaching in Latin and Classical Humanities from Tufts University and a Bachelor of Arts in Classical Civilization from Wesleyan University. He has presented nationally on artificial intelligence in middle schools, served on accreditation teams, and pursued extensive professional development in educational leadership, instructional coaching, and nonprofit management.

With Adams joining the leadership team, Boston College High School continues its commitment to providing an exceptional Jesuit education that prepares young men to lead lives of faith, scholarship, and service.
