 | Chinese Idol

On Monday, BC High students filled the Gregory E. Bulger Center for the Performing Arts to hear their classmates perform songs in Chinese. The event, dubbed Chinese Idol, was a competition hosted by the Modern Language department to encourage students to continue learning Chinese and to engage their interests in Chinese culture. In addition to student performance, the event featured a special concert by an all-strings orchestra from a high school in Beijing.
BC High currently offers nine levels of Chinese language course from seventh through twelfth grade. In addition, the school sends students to China each year as part of its International Program.

 | Students Compete in Quiz Bowl

Two teams of students from BC High’s Arrupe Division competed in the Charter Oak Scholastic Open Quiz Bowl this week at Middlesex Middle School in Darien, CT. The teams, led by faculty members Mr. Chapman and Ms. McLarnon, included students: Aidan Crehan, Pat Donovan, Pat McDonough, Bach an Nguyen, Billy O’Carroll, Ian Webb, William Duggan, Colm Feeney, Jack Foley, Will Higgins, Noah Peterson, and Drew Williamson.
