As the keynote speaker, Fr. Butler will address the graduating class of Boston College High School, sharing his insights on the importance of Jesuit values, the pursuit of excellence, and the call to lead lives of faith, service, and purpose. His message will inspire graduates to embrace their unique talents and vocations as they prepare to make meaningful contributions to their communities and the world.
“Fr. Butler’s deep commitment to Jesuit education and his ability to inspire others make him an ideal speaker for this year’s Commencement,” said Boston College High School President Grace Regan. “We are honored to welcome him as he prepares to assume the presidency of Boston College, and we know his words will resonate deeply with our graduates and their families.”
Fr. Butler is widely recognized for his ability to connect with students, alumni, and the broader Jesuit community. He has served as chaplain to the Boston College football program since 2010 and is frequently invited to speak at retreats, reunions, and events across the country.
In 2026, Fr. Butler will succeed Rev. William P. Leahy, SJ, as the 26th president of Boston College, continuing the University’s mission to educate students for lives of faith, service, and leadership.
