BC High Names Mark Whitehouse as Next Head Varsity Soccer Coach

Boston, MA — Boston College High School (BC High) is proud to announce Mark Whitehouse as the next Head Varsity Soccer Coach. Coach Whitehouse, who has been a dedicated member of the BC High soccer program since 2011, brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to the school’s mission. Over the past thirteen years, he has served as Freshman Assistant Coach, JV Head Coach, Varsity Assistant Coach, and most recently, Varsity Co-Head Coach. In addition to his coaching roles, Whitehouse is a valued teacher in the math department and the Head Development Rugby Coach.

President Grace Regan P'12 expressed her excitement for this new chapter, sharing, "I'm thrilled for Mark to take this role. Athletics are an extension of the work that happens in school each day and I know Mark will work hard to continue to form good leaders young men committed to excellence who embody our athletic pillars of Hard Work, Humility, Respect, and Teamwork."

Whitehouse’s coaching journey extends beyond BC High, with experience leading club and premier teams as well as youth development squads. As a player, he competed at Long Island University (NY) and with Longridge Town Football Club in the English Conference League. His academic background includes a Bachelor of Science in Math with Finance from the University of Liverpool, a Master of Science in Adolescent Mathematics Education from Long Island University, and a Master’s in Applied Economics from Boston College.

Athletic Director Tom Conley ’08 noted that “Mark has a clear vision for the soccer program. I am confident our young men will develop as players and he will help them reach their goals and get them to the next level while becoming better men. Mark will continue the standard of sustained success the soccer program has had under Coach Billy Ryan and work to take our team to new heights.”

Reflecting on his new role, Mark Whitehouse shared, “I am honored to lead the BC High soccer program and grateful for the opportunity to work with such dedicated student-athletes and colleagues. Being a part of the BC High community for years and watching how much soccer means to our athletes is something I do not take for granted. I’m excited to be a part of their formation and to see the kids come together towards a common goal.” He added, “I’m truly excited to get started. My goal is to take the next big step with the program—modernizing our style of play and competing to win the state championship.”
