Shields Fellows Scholarship Application

Your hard work and dedication to excellence in your academic and community life are commendable. As a young man who grew up in Brockton, my mom, Mary Jane Murphy Shields, dropped me off at BC High and said it would be the best experience of my life. And boy was she right! That’s why my wife, Kathy, and I are now privileged to work with BC High to equally fund the Shields Fellows Scholarship Program. This program provides a unique opportunity to other young men from Brockton so that they too, may have the best experience of their lives.

This year, we will accept four (4) Shields Fellows, incoming/rising 9th graders from Brockton, with preference given to students with demonstrated financial need. Each Fellow will receive:

• A full tuition scholarship for all four years, lunch every day and an MBTA commuter rail pass 
• A dedicated team of faculty and staff, including the Shields Fellows Program Manager
• Enrichment opportunities through innovation workshops and hands-on projects

Shields Fellows Scholarship applications are due by March 24, 2026.
