The
Enrollment
Process

What to Expect

Think you’d be a good fit for our community?

Great—we can’t wait to get started!

Our enrollment process is designed to be easy, accessible, and transparent. We want you to spend as much time as you need getting to know our school and asking questions about our academics, co-curriculars, student life, and service learning. That’s why we offer opportunities to view our campus, chat with students and teachers, and even sit in on classes.

Step 1: Attend Our Events

We have many ways for you to get a feel for our school. Whether you take a tour of the campus, sit in on a class during our shadow program or attend our open house, you’ll get a better sense of who we are and whether you belong here.

Step 2: Apply

Ready to apply? It’s easy to get started. An online application portal, Ravenna, keeps all your application materials—including transcripts, standardized test scores, and letters of recommendation—in one convenient place.

Students entering Grades 7-8 are required to take the Independent Schools Entrance Exam (ISEE). Boston Public School students will no longer take the ISEE in their district schools; however, to be considered for a merit scholarship, a student must take the ISEE. Non-merit financial aid is available to those who qualify through our financial aid application.

Students entering Grades 9-11 can take any one of the following:
Grade 9: High School Placement Test (HSPT) or Secondary School Admissions Test (SSAT)
Grades 10 or 11: HSPT, SSAT, ISEE, MCAS, PARCC, PSAT, SAT, or ACT

Throughout the fall, we will offer on-site testing. Students will need to register for the tests directly through the testing organizations.

HSPT: November 6, 20, and December 18

To register, visit www.stsusers.com

SSAT: December 18

To register, visit www.ssat.org

ISEE: November 20, January 8, 29

To register, visit www.erblearn.org

Step 3: Consider Financial Aid

If you think a BC High education is the right choice, we encourage you to apply regardless of your family’s finances. Please visit the Affording BC High section to learn more about financial aid. Applications for financial aid are completed through FACTS, and are separate from the admission applications; however they must be completed by the admission application deadline.
